I am a proud Métis woman born in Mi'kma'ki (Halifax, Nova Scotia), the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi'kmaq People. I now call Nottawasaga (Wasaga Beach, Ontario) my home, an area recognized as the traditional territory of the Anishinaabek people of the Three Fires Confederacy. Currently, I reside and work on the traditional territories of Georgian Bay Township, honouring the land of the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Pottawatomi peoples.
My traditional name is Yellow Turtle Woman, and I am a member of the Marten Clan. The colours I hold are purple, pink, and orange. As a member of Painted Feather Woodland Métis, I proudly embrace my cultural identity and strive to integrate my heritage into my therapeutic practice. My goal is to create a welcoming and inclusive space for all clients, drawing upon the wisdom of my ancestors and the teachings I have received.
